The purpose of this position is to provide operational and financial consulting related to company-controlled assets including leadership, analytical support, financial planning, accounting, auditing, operational performance, software utilization, capital investments, process improvement support and business advisory services to the Real Estate Asset Management and the Corporate Real Estate Accounting business areas. This position also helps support the rest of the team (two Senior Business Analysts and two Invoice Analysts) and participates in developing a pipeline of talent for succession planning within the sub-department.
Responsibilities include:
Serving as a financial as well as operational subject matter expert (SME) and point of contact to the Real Estate Asset Management and Corporate Real Estate Accounting business areas, providing comprehensive consulting, auditing and analytical business support Providing financial, operational and statistical reporting and analysis to the Real Estate Asset Management, Corporate Accounting, Facilities, Internal Audit and Business Analysis and Reporting (BAR) business areas as well as Publix Senior Leadership Developing and supporting corporate financial and strategic planning, forecasting and reporting structures Mentoring and development of Real Estate, Corporate Real Estate Accounting and Business Analysis & Reporting business areas and other associates as needed Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or another analytical discipline or equivalent 5 years of relevant business experience in Real Estate Accounting Knowledge of accounting, budgeting and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as business practices specific to Publix Knowledge of SOX requirements and internal controls Analytical skills Change management, negotiation and persuasion skills Computer and data management skills Customer service skills Oral communication skills Written communication skills Problem solving skills Ability to work independently Professionalism and interpersonal skills Multi-tasking, organizational, planning, prioritization, and time management skills, as well as the ability to be adaptable Ability to demonstrate initiative by taking responsibility for learning new skills and processes Ability to assist the customer in understanding his/her own needs and how they balance with the needs of Publix Ability to demonstrate a high degree of self-motivation, commitment, and integrity Ability to demonstrate a positive attitude Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel Basic skills in SAP, Analyzer, Compass (Real Estate Management Software) Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of work, constantly shifting priorities and varying deadlines Willingness to work extended hours or weekends Willingness to travel Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Accounting or MBA with concentration in Accounting or Finance 8 years of relevant business experience in Real Estate Accounting Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant or other certifications specific to the position Knowledge of Publix real estate ownership and operational environments as well as support department structure Knowledge of major Publix technology systems and the inter-relationship of those systems Knowledge of Publix policies and guidelines Knowledge of other Publix business functions and departments Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Advanced skills in SAP, Analyzer Intermediate skills in Compass (Real Estate Management Software) Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint Benefits Employee stock ownership plan that contributes Publix stock to associates each year at no cost An opportunity to purchase additional shares of our privately-held stock 401(k) retirement savings plan Group health, dental and vision plans plan Paid Time Off Paid Parental Leave Short- and long-term disability insurance Tuition reimbursement Free hot lunches (buffet-style) at facilities with a cafeteria Visit our website to see all of our benefits: Benefits – Jobs (publix.com) Year End BonusAs a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year.
