Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated, technically savvy Fiber Engineer to help develop and scale one of the world’s largest and most complex networks.

The ideal candidate will possess a technical background with a strong working knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and should also have a demonstrated ability to create processes, create drawings, scopes of work and other necessary technical documentation. He/She should have demonstrated ability to think logically about technical challenges, with the ability to break down and resolve issues independently. As well as:
- Experience working in GIS Systems
- Understanding of Underground Construction Techniques
- Understanding of Inside Plant Cabling and Routing Construction Vendors
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
- Ability to work across multiple time zones

Key job responsibilities
As a Fiber Engineer, you will have the exciting opportunity to help create processes, design fiber solutions, and maintain records surrounding our fiber optic infrastructure. You will
- Interface with internal (Data Center Engineering, Business Developers, Deployment Engineers) and external stakeholders (Engineering Firms, Construction Vendors)
- Create Engineering Documents, Single Line Drawings and Cable Routing Schematics.
- Ingest and Audit GIS data for completeness and accuracy
- Implement projects across multiple stakeholders
