Repairs HVAC/mechanical/refrigeration systems either by replacing or renewing. Inspects and test electrical circuitry or equipment as needed. Estimates quantities on materials needed to do job and prepare requisitions. Troubleshoots and repairs faulty mechanical components to ensure continued heating and cooling to all parts of the hospital. Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the organization. Qualification: High school diploma/GED preferred or technical training equivalent, plus five years of specialized training/experience in the mechanical field. Must have an EPA 608 Universal Technician card and knowledge of refrigerant recovery. Training in specific items of equipment such as boilers, chillers, electrical, plumbing, air-condition and refrigeration is very desirable. Minimum three (3) year, preferred five (5) years of specialized training/experience. Must possess a valid NC driver’s license with a good driving history. Work involves lifting and carrying objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
