The department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Sr. Inventory Clerk to work at UHealth. The Senior Inventory Clerk maintains control of incoming and outgoing supplies and products within the department/unit and leads lower level inventory clerks in day-to-day tasks. The performance of tasks necessary to operate the Stockroom, which houses all stock items required to address the needs of the Medical School, SCCC, BPEI & and all satellite facilities under the responsibility of Medical Facilities. This position is considered “essential personnel”, therefore, Disaster Procedures apply and must be followed.

Responsible for placing orders for “Stock” & “Non-Stock” supplies/materials as needed by staff/technicians in accordance with departmental procedures.

Perform physical inventory counts to reconcile items on hand against the inventory management software and investigate and report reasons for discrepancies periodically.

Compile and maintain records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, or merchandise in inventory.

Responsible for ensuring that the maintenance of all Facilities vehicles and golf carts are current.

Proper storage and handling of received inventory.

Record entries of inventory additions (Surplus Property) via the inventory management software and compile information to determine price for any inventory additions.

Prepare reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and inventory discrepancies/adjustments.

Maintains records of all tools issued to technicians as well as tools held by Stockroom and available for check out by technicians.

Review items for defects, obsolescence and slow moving to be noted in inventory management software and make recommendations to supervisor for disposal of items as necessary.

Responsible for coordinating with potential suppliers/vendors to assist in the University’s “vendorization” process (as needed).

Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.

Receives visits from salesman from various companies that come to inquire upon their service and any immediate need.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, reports and correspondence.

Ability to understand and follow instructions.

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.

Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.

Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.

Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
