The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for the development, sustaining, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment to optimize safety, quality, efficiencies, productivity, delivery, and cost.  Position will be heavily involved in the daily troubleshooting, repairing, and improvement of machinery. Sr. Manufacturing Engineer will support continuous improvement efforts associated with equipment to eliminate failure points and improve reliability. Will work with internal support departments, new product development teams as well as product sustaining engineering to develop, improve and implement new products, production processes and automated equipment.

Responsibilities Coordinate and support sustainment activities for assigned manufacturing areasImprove manufacturing equipment performance with focus on safety, quality, and productivity.Provide technical advice and troubleshooting on equipment and machinery. Hands-On approach. Participate in new product development activities (NPD).Work with suppliers to develop, install and qualify equipment, processes, fixtures and poke yokes.Implement new systems requiring lean & continuous improvement techniques applied to the manufacturing operations.Provide manufacturing engineering support for product and process qualifications to meet scheduled deadlines Conduct Capacity analysis, PFMEA, Validation Plans, Safety risk analysis, KAIZEN Blitz and similar activities.Ensure that all safety regulations and controls are meet on equipment’s and processes on production areas.Utilize CMMS software to manage facility assets and document preventative and corrective work orders, and manage cost of repairs(equipment), downtime/uptime, and parts inventory Contribute continuously to Safety, Quality, Delivery and 5S programs performance. Qualifications Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university.At least 10 years’ experience as a Reliability Engineer, or equivalent positionTotal Productive Maintenance (TPM) program experience Knowledge and experience using reliability methodologies such as FMEA and Root Cause analysis to mitigate equipment issuesExperience using CMMS software system to manage equipment tasks, costs, parts, etc.Experience using Kaizen events to evaluate and improve critical assetsMust have a thorough understanding of manufacturing equipment and machineryExperience with lean manufacturing tools and continuous improvement strategies

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Higl level of knowledge and experience with manufacturing equipment and machinery Extrusion or injection molding experience is a plus Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing certification is a plus.Reliability Centered Maintenance Certification, or equivalent

Proficiency with Solid Works or other CAD tools.
