Senior Quality Assurance Hardware Engineer 

This role is a hybrid position based at any of the following Shift4 locations: Center Valley, PA (preferred), Tampa, FL or Roswell, GA. Relocation assistance may be provided.

 

Shift4 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Assurance Hardware Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our hardware products by developing and implementing quality assurance strategies, conducting tests, and providing detailed analysis and recommendations. This role will require close collaboration across product, technology and commercial teams as well as strategic hardware partners.

 

Responsibilities

Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to verify the functionality, performance, and compliance of hardware components and systems. Perform both manual and automated tests on hardware devices, including stress testing, environmental testing, and functional testing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, to identify and resolve quality issues. Document test results, defects, and corrective actions in a clear and concise manner. Develop and maintain quality assurance metrics, such as defect densities and open defect counts. Ensure that hardware products meet all relevant industry standards and certifications. Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve product quality and reliability. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in hardware testing and quality assurance.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware quality assurance or a similar role. Strong knowledge of hardware testing methodologies and tools, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. Familiarity with common industry standards and certifications, such as ISO, FCC, and CE. Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, for test automation. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Desired Qualifications:

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Experience with high-speed digital and analog circuits. Knowledge of PCB design and manufacturing processes. Experience with Agile development methodologies. Experience with POS / payment processing hardware, Point of Sale tablets, wireless handheld devices, pinpad HW, etc.
