About the Role:

This is a role in the Risk Strategy and Analytics team in our Enterprise Risk Management group. At Ouro, the customer is at the center of our decisions and Risk Management is focused on controlling risk, while enabling profitable growth. This role will have a direct impact on our mission. You will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, providing insights and proposing the optimized strategies we need to ensure our portfolio of products operate within loss and profitability targets. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical skills. This role also requires endless curiosity and the passion to understand our customers. This role is an opportunity to not only become an SME in Risk, but also to learn deeply about Ouro products, end to end.


Responsibilities:

Analyze transaction and customer data to develop fraud and other risk control strategies needed to deliver on portfolio performance goals. 

Prepare analytics and reports for ongoing monitoring of risk strategy performance. Prepare clear and concise reports and presentations summarizing findings, insights, and recommendations.

Partner with the Risk Decision Engine and Product/Engineering teams to implement changes in risk strategies/rules: provide clear requirements and test cases, execute user testing, review and sign-off on SDET test results, execute post-release validation in the production environment.

Partner with and provide requirements to the Strategic Platform team that will develop Risk models and tools that require use of the ML/AI platforms or other new platform features. 

Engage on both strategic ad-hoc requests and projects, conducting independent research to propose rules and strategies to help mitigate risks across all products.

Be the SME on the risk function that you own. Represent Risk Strategy in cross-functional teams to implement risk mitigation strategies for new products or feature enhancements.

Proactively stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to risk management and fraud prevention.

Requirements:

Must be curious and passionate about problem-solving.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in time series data.

BS or advanced degree in STEM or related field.

3+ years’ experience in data analysis or related role, preferably in Fintech or Payments industry.

Experience in Payments, Risk management, Credit, or Banking preferred.

Strong proficiency in using SQL, Python, R, Snowflake for data analysis. 

Demonstrated aptitude to independently learn new scripting languages, database platforms and analysis tools. 

Experience building reports in BI platforms such as QliQ, like Power BI, Tableau.

Familiarity card payments or banking/finance industry, including knowledge of transactional payment data analysis.

Must be able to clearly communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

Self-starter and effectively self-manage pivoting on priorities when needed. 

Role is located in Austin, TX. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate (relocation assistance will be provided for non-local applicants).

This is a hybrid role with 4 days in office required per week.
