The Strategic Partners business was founded in 2000 and has significant experience in providing limited partners a range of liquidity solutions across illiquid asset classes on a fair, timely and confidential basis. Strategic Partners is one of the most prolific secondary market participants in the world and is recognized as an innovative investor, with broad transaction capabilities that reinforce its established

reputation as a nimble and responsive investor. Through its private equity, infrastructure and real estate platforms Strategic Partners has executed ~2,100 transactions that represent interests in approximately 5,400 underlying fund interests managed by over 1,650+ different financial sponsors.  

The Blackstone GP Stakes business sits within the Strategic Partners group of Blackstone. GP Stakes acquires minority ownership interests in leading private equity firms (“GPs”).  This is a direct private equity investment strategy focused on alternative asset management as a sector, benefiting from strong secular

trends in capital allocation toward private-market alternative assets and employing Blackstone’s disciplined approach to investing.  We seek to invest in institutionalized GPs with a competitive edge, where we are well-positioned to deliver strategic value by leveraging the broader Blackstone platform.  Investments may be effectuated through a variety of structures, techniques and instruments such as common, preferred or structured equity.

Job Description:

The role will entail:

Assisting SP Stakes portfolio GPs with extensive research and development on new product ideas, market analysis, marketing strategy and organizational and financial impacts of potential new business linesResearching and analyzing new product opportunities for SP Stakes portfolio GPs across asset classesResearching and analyzing private markets to identify business development scenariosAnalyzing investor trends to advise SP Stakes portfolio GPs on LP demand across private market products and asset classesAssisting portfolio GPs with developing strategic plansAssisting in handling day-to-day interactions with portfolio GPsAdvise SP Stakes portfolio GPs on team growth and development; assist those firms with their prioritization of key objectivesProvide ongoing support, evaluation, analysis and advice related to the implementation of new products, business opportunities and other strategic initiatives at SP Stakes portfolio GPs

Primary responsibilities will include:

Assisting the team in developing presentation materials, business plans and memos for and related to portfolio GPsAssisting with keeping all pitch materials and internal marketing materials currentInteracting regularly with portfolio GPs to monitor business developments and fundraising progressCreating and delivering periodic updates on strategic value activity for portfolio GPs and on fundraising and material business developments relating to portfolio GPsAssisting in formulating and organizing thought leadership events relating to the Strategic Value programTracking interactions with, and projects related to, portfolio GPs

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and quantitative skills, a successful candidate will have:

2+ years’ work experience (buy-side or sell-side) in a product group, investment banking role, structuring group, strategy role, business support function or marketing/IR roleKnowledge of and familiarity with alternative asset classesFamiliarity with institutional investor segments and alternative portfolio preferences is a plusStrong analytical abilitiesStrong MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint skillsStrong writing skills

Expected annual base salary range:

$120,000 - $150,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
