This Opportunity

WSP is currently looking for a full-time Structural Project Engineer to join our Boise, ID office's growing Property & Buildings practice.  A successful candidate will be involved with buildings projects as part of our structural engineering team and will become a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves complex challenges.  A successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:

Your Impact Under the supervision of a senior engineer, Project Manager, or lead engineer, perform structural design of new buildings and modifications of existing buildings throughout the United States. Analyze and design building structures and foundations using timber, concrete, steel, and masonry systems. Develop high quality construction documents. Utilize latest technology and digital tools for design, detailing, and visualization. Assist senior engineers with Construction Administration tasks, including review of shop drawing submittals and answering contractor Requests For Information (RFIs). Collaborate with BIM technicians to provide structural construction documents, including development of modeled content and detail views. Provide limited oversight to entry-level engineering staff in the completion of simple engineering tasks. Complete training on assigned tasks. Work collaboratively with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on a wide range of projects.   Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline. 3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience. Knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project related issues.  Familiarity with relevant structural design standards and codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, NDS, etc). Analytical mindset with an ability to exercise sound judgement in evaluating situations and making decisions.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, physics, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools. Experience with structural design software (i.e., AutoCAD,Revit, MathCad, STAAD, Enercalc, RISA 3D, ADAPT, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, etc). ). The ability to abide by WSP’s health and safety standards, drug and alcohol policies, and anti-harassment guidelines. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional Engineering license or the ability to obtain a P.E. License. Master’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline. Engineer in Training Certification. A member of local professional practice organizations.
