Position Availability: Position Title: Student Assistant, Alumni Engagement & Annual Giving Programs Requisition Number: 0406072990 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: CA/Development Responsibilities: The New School’s Development and Alumni Engagement (DAE) Office seeks a dynamic and talented Student Assistant to work with the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Programs team (AEAGP). Reporting to the AVP, AEAGP and Director of Alumni Engagement, the Student Assistant will provide part-time support (15 – 20 hours per week) as a key member working to advance the AEAGP goals both internally and externally.

They will receive on-the-job training and gain valuable skills in the professional areas of advancement, including fundraising, alumni relations, advancement services, and communications and marketing. Student Assistants will also have the opportunity to participate in professional development opportunities during their time with DAE.

Responsibilities:
Assists the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving Programs team with special projects, research, events, and correspondence to support the fundraising and engagement efforts of the unit. Provide daily administrative management of alumni approvals for LinkedIn Alumni Group, The New School Network, Mentorship, and other programs and monitor the general email box and social media channels. Research alumni to compile recommendations for alumni profiles, interviews, mentors, and speakers. Assist with AEAGP team in program administration, such as communicating with alumni mentor-mentee participants, reviewing and posting in The New School Network, texting volunteers, proofreading documents, researching trends and opportunities, and other additional tasks as needed.


Hourly Rate: $15.00 – $19.00

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must be a matriculated undergraduate or graduate student at The New School. Exceptional customer service with strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Flexible, motivated, and dependable individual that can work well independently and in a team-based setting. Robust attention to detail with demonstrated ability to multitask, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and problem solve. Demonstrated ability to confidently establish credibility with stakeholders at all levels. Exercises good judgment and discretion with sensitive and confidential information. Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and preferred Adobe Creative Suite but not required. Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 policy and requirements
