Superintendent, Operations Planning (Corpus Christi)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Superintendent, Operations Planning reports to the Manager, Operations Planning and is responsible for coordinating and providing support to Operations as it relates to strategic business planning, performance management, budgeting, and reporting. A qualified applicant will have a strong understanding of hydrocarbon processing and will be responsible for tracking and reporting progress on a variety of operations and associated business support and planning activities as they relate to operational and financial performance, governance, and strategic planning.

 

This position offers the ability to positively impact multiple departments of Cheniere’s operating asset and collaborate with all levels of the company from individual contributors to Executive Management. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Lead coordination and alignment of budget development for each site department in support of the annual budget cycle.Support assumption development, forecasting, and explanation of variances by department. Responsible for delivery of site reports inclusive of monthly site governance report, quarterly board updates, and other periodic site reports including all associated performance metrics. Lead the development of KPIs and analytical tools to measure operations performance. Lead coordination and development of annual site O&M benchmarking analysis to drive continuous improvement of site performance.  Conduct a wide variety of ad hoc analyses to support senior management decision making.  Identify challenges to meeting performance targets, propose corrective measures, and support appropriate stakeholders with implementation of mitigations/corrections. Lead development of Operations OPEX, CAPEX and other key inputs to support pre-FID decision making on operating asset expansion opportunities.  Provide support to business stakeholders and deliverables outside of the Operations organization such as: Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Supply Chain, and others as requested. Support coordination and reporting for site performance assurance and risk management programs. Support site leadership with the development and alignment of relevant operations strategic plans, goals, and objectives. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge:

The Superintendent, Operations Planning will have a broad understanding of operations within LNG, refining, petrochemical, or similar industry and a strong working knowledge of business planning, budget management, financial analyses, and continuous improvement principles. 

 

Skills:

Strong leadership and business administration abilities.  Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills. Well versed in a wide variety of operational and business analytics.  Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to influence without direct authority.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Highly flexible and adaptable; able to respond quickly to shifting priorities.  Must have the ability to proactively work with minimal supervision.  Solid commitment to safety and dedication to the Company’s core values.  Able to work with a culturally diverse group of business and technical teams.  Possess the personality and ability to relate to and establish a mutually respectful relationship with management, peers, and various facility level workers.  Ability to communicate with clarity and business sense at higher levels within the organization and with customers and third parties.  Highly efficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel skills are required. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or other appropriate business function. Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing status. 

 

Experience: Ten (10) plus years of related experience in an operations, business support or finance role within natural gas, refining or petrochemical industry. LNG experience preferred.

WORK CONDITIONS

Job is performed in a typical office environment but is subject to time pressures and constraints and is often dependent on input from others.  Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends.  Periodic domestic travel required as business needs dictate.  Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Cheniere.
