SUPERINTENDENT BOAT & AVIATION
(Site Based in Indonesia - National)
Some of your duties will include:
Day-to-Day Operations: Supervising daily operations of aviation and boat to ensure smooth functioning. Ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Overseeing maintenance and repair of all aviation and boat equipment. Coordinating with staff and managing schedules to ensure efficient operations. Technical: Understanding and implementing technical aspects of aviation and boat operations. Keeping up to date with the latest technology and equipment in the field. Troubleshooting technical issues and ensuring all equipment is in good working condition. Implementing technical safety measures and conducting regular safety checks. Project Management: Planning and executing projects related to aviation and boat operations. Coordinating with various stakeholders, including staff, management, and external vendors. Ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Evaluating project outcomes and implementing improvements based on feedback. Budget & Cost Budget Planning: Developing and managing the annual budget for aviation and boat operations. This includes forecasting costs, setting budget goals, and allocating funds to different areas such as maintenance, safety measures, staff training, and new projects. Cost Analysis: Regularly analyzing operational costs to identify areas for financial improvement. This includes evaluating the cost-effectiveness of current operations and initiatives and recommending changes as necessary. Financial Reporting: Preparing regular financial reports that detail the spending and performance of the aviation and boat operations. These reports can help inform decision-making and ensure transparency. Cost Control: Implementing strategies to control costs and ensure operations stay within the set budget. This could involve negotiating contracts with vendors, optimizing operational efficiency to reduce costs, or investing in technology that can lead to long-term savings. Project Costing: Estimating the costs of new projects or initiatives and incorporating these costs into the overall budget. This also includes tracking project costs to ensure they stay within the allocated budget. Continuous Improvement Monitor safety and quality metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement. Establish feedback mechanisms from staff and passengers to inform enhancements. Streamline safety and quality processes for efficiency and adopt best practices. Conduct frequent training for staff on current safety protocols and tech advancements. Foster a culture encouraging innovative solutions to safety and quality issues. Benchmark safety and quality against industry leaders to identify improvement areas. Investigate incidents thoroughly, identifying causes and implementing preventive actions. Carry out safety and quality audits to gauge the efficacy of existing measures. Stay updated on tech innovations that enhance safety and quality processes. Collaborate with internal teams and industry peers for shared safety insights and best practices. Periodically refresh safety and quality policies to align with industry advancements. People & Learning Liaison with Training Department: The Superintendent of Aviation and Boat works closely with the Training Department to identify training needs and develop appropriate training programs. This collaboration ensures that all staff receive the necessary training to perform their roles effectively and safely. It also helps in the planning and implementation of career development programs, leadership development initiatives, and other learning opportunities for the staff. This liaison role is pivotal in aligning the training strategies with the operational needs of the aviation and boat operations. Communication (Committees, Meeting, and Required Liaising) Establish and maintain close communication Establish and maintain close communication with the subordinate in regular meeting for work progress, Regular safety meetings in all section to ensure all in the same page on following up about safety at work. Coordination with others section or departments for work progress
What skills and experience do you need? Bachelor’s degree in aviation administration / engineering or related field. Have min. 10 years’ experience in Managerial level and working in Airport Operations, Mining Company or related field. Completed a formal training course in: Safety Management System or CASO (Civil Aviation Safety Officer) Training. Human Factors: to understand the role of human behavior and its impact on safety in aviation. Accident Investigation: to lead or assist in investigations should any accidents or incidents occur and can derive lessons and preventive measures from these incidents. Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor: A certification or training as a Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor is crucial. Risk Management: to identify, assess, and prioritize risks. Possess comprehensive knowledge of the certificate holder’s Air Operator Certificate, operational specifications, and the company's operations and technical manuals. Having experience as a Flight Operations Officer is preferable. #LI-DG1
