Job Responsibilities and Duties:\n

At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Superintendent is responsible for aspects within the department overseen at the Stillwater or East Boulder Mine. This position will have oversight of the Electrical and Stationary Maintenance departments. Ensuring a safe and environmentally excellent setting for the Electrical and Stationary Maintenance group is paramount to the success of Sibanye-Stillwater. \n

The Electrical and Stationary Maintenance Superintendent's primary duties are:\n

Operational Leadership:\n\nFosters an inclusive, engaged workplace culture while providing the leadership that promotes continuously exploring new technologies to improve worker safety and efficiencies throughout the operation.\nRepresents Sibanye-Stillwater's values to all employees.\nProvide leadership to the group in safety, environmental protection, and productive mine operations.\nWork with the site senior leadership team in continuing the development of a focused and engaged culture throughout the organization.\nBe pro-active in all aspects of the operations; safety, environment, effective and efficient utilization of resources, productivity, improvement initiatives, and foster teamwork across the site.\nDemonstrate positive two-way verbal and written communication.\n\n

Safety and Environmental Compliance:\n\nActively support and contribute to the development of Safety and Health Management, Environmental systems, and regulatory compliance.\nDrive timely and consistent auditing processes with appropriate follow up.\n\n

Team Management:\n\nCoordinates resources and efforts to compliment other areas in realizing overall mine goals.\nCoach and mentor the General Foreman team and other site leaders in accordance with Sibanye-Stillwater leadership qualities.\nFoster cooperation, collaboration, and innovation to ensure that realistic production and development goals are being set and met. Ensure that resource value is being maximized.\nOversees multiple working groups and takes appropriate action in supporting a positive and inclusive work environment as well as professionally addressing behaviors that don't align with Sibanye-Stillwater's core values.\nMaintain a productive labor relations environment and promote fail and consistent employment practices.\nDemonstrate fair and consistent administration of Sibanye-Stillwater policies and procedures and support the General Foreman in dealing with employee concerns.\nDevelop and communicate site goals and initiatives in cooperation with other site leaders.\nProficiency in mine systems, cost management, and productivity enhancement.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n

Budget and Cost Control:\n\nAchieving operational objectives, planning, and execution of quality mine support and cost targets.\nEstablish and execute the three months to two-year planning strategies that support the growth of the operation.\n\n

Technical Oversight:\n\nDevelop and execute strategic workforce planning and organizational development.\nLead team to maximum maintenance goals through safely optimizing mine systems, planning, and procedures.\nProject management experience including maintaining a budget, intra-departmental resource coordination, timeline for delivery, etc.\n\n

Reporting and Documentation:\n\nAssist in the preparation and review of the capital budget.\nDefine, establish, and set Key Performance Indices (KPIs) and hold groups accountable to KPIs. \n\n

Qualifications and Skills:\n\nExcellent oral and written communication skills. \nStrong ability to coach and mentor others, both peers and subordinates.\nAbility to plan, schedule, and execute work. \nSupport the General Foremen executing the one week to three-month plan.\nIdentify and define high performers within the group and ensure training and development of these salary employees for future promotional roles.\n\n

Demonstrable experience and skills include: \n\nExperienced in PC based software programs, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and ERP software (Oracle\/JDE or equivalent).\nUnderstanding and the application of MSHA regulations and compliance.\nIndependent working habits.\n\n

Education & Experience\n\nDegree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or its equivalent from a recognized institution or meet these standards through proven experience and skillsets.\nMinimum ten years of relevant experience, with a mix of mine maintenance and project background.\nExperience with underground mining methods, narrow vein preferred.\n\n
