Supervisor I, Production Process Training
Position overview
The Production Process Training department provides ongoing training to production operators in all aspects of manufacturing and production. The department is a simulated training facility to allow production employees time to learn basic processing techniques on production equipment both inside and outside of routine production areas.
The Supervisor I, Production Process Training is responsible for managing the Production Process Training department including curriculum development and all associated training activities and initiatives. This includes developing, coordinating, and overseeing technical skill-based training with an emphasis on equipment operation, theory, basic techniques, and continuous improvement. This position is responsible for instructing and assisting a team of trainers to ensure optimal training effectiveness by developing learning modules and manuals based on continuous needs assessments.
The Supervisor I, Production Process Training is a leader with experience in the fields of development manufacturing (small scale) and commercial manufacturing (large scale), familiar with working with laboratory glassware for production simulation, job/task analysis, instructional design, workplace training.

This role supervises employees in the Production Process Training department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Essential job duties
Supervise Training Program
Develop and Maintain a dynamic, responsive training curriculum that ensures competency for trainees Determine training needs and evaluate training effectiveness by assessing trends of human and process errors, and soliciting feedback from supervisors and team leads Advise functional area supervisors on staff training needs Initiate and coordinate/schedule all skill-based training activities Establish/maintain annual retraining certifications for all employees Evaluate and coordinate external training providers for supplemental employee and/or trainer education (e.g., Team Lead training classes, etc.)Supervise Training Staff
Abide by organization policies and applicable laws for supervisory responsibilities Reward positive and proactive behavior, address complaints, resolve problems, and administer disciplinary action when necessary Evaluate and perform personnel reviews to ensure individual needs are identified and addressed and accomplishments are recognized Determine and implement performance improvement plans and provide general guidance for staff development or department improvement opportunitiesCurriculum Development
Research and implement up-to-date strategies, materials, and methodologies relevant to improving employee and trainer performance Develop knowledge/skills/competency assessment testing and training modules and manuals Provide novel learning strategies, tools, and programs for effective training Maintain SOPs and other documents to ensure accuracy and clarity for production and support processes Coordinate and conduct pre-manufacturing meetings to review documentation for new processes in conjunction with project managementConduct Training of Employees, Trainers, and Outside Customers
Provide hands-on employee training or technician/technical supervisor support in functional areas in the training department or on shift as needed Instruct and cross train trainers in functional areas and effective training strategies Plan, coordinate, and perform Shutdown and new hire training Implement training programs in aseptic manufacturing practices for external customers and agenciesEducation, experience, certification and licensures
Required
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Science/Engineering or related experience Minimum 5 years’ experience, including 1 years’ in a leadership role Obtain and maintain gowning qualificationsPreferred
Training department or training/teaching environment experience Obtain and maintain Master Black Belt Lean Six Sigma certification Previous relevant work experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing Certification as a learning profession (i.e., American Society for Training & Development – Certified Learning Professional or International Society for Performance Improvement - Human Performance Technology)Knowledge, skills and abilities

Pay Range: $69,000 – 85,657
Education, experience, location and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
