Supply Technician
**Description** **General Summary** Purchasing of all materials and services required in performing hospital maintenance according to J&J standards and policies. Manage supplies, equipment and tools. The Supply Technician shall report to the Maintenance Supervisor. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Order and maintain critical and preventive maintenance parts inventories, specialized tools, and rental equipment + Assure accuracy of parts received; communicate with tradesman to ensure parts are correct + Provide for emergency and expedited parts request for corrective measures + Ensure manufacture requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards are maintained on all parts and equipment purchased and utilized + Other duties assigned **Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements** + General knowledge of various trades with five (5) years of experience in using any of the accepted construction or maintenance methods and techniques relating to mechanical, electrical, or structural systems in a hospital operating environment + Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques, scheduling, purchasing parts and materials, and computerized maintenance records keeping + Ability to use computerized purchasing systems **Work Environment** + Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extension + Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but none to the point of being disagreeable.
