We have an exciting opportunity for an IT
Operational Site System Administrator that
includes US Expatriate assignment to
Japan:
Responsibilities of this role include:
• Operations & Sustainment in a critical mission environment.
• Working in a team environment providing technical services on Unix and Windows servers and operation systems software and their associated storage.
• Distribution of application software to Windows workstations and will assist users with issues with all workstation installed software
• Successful integration of the hardware and applications software across the enterprise.
• Involved in all phases of the installation, integration and maintenance of software and hardware component changes to large, complex information systems.
• Travel to regional sites in support multiple Customer locations


Team duties include but are not limited to:
• Maintain site systems to ensure no outages occur for users
• Assist users with workstation applications
• Monitor system usage and take corrective actions
• Apply operating system updates and configuration changes
• Assist users with system problems
• Manage administrator and service accounts
• Perform system tuning for improved performance
• Generate, update and maintain system documentation
• Coordinate troubleshooting efforts with users, subsystem provider and local national customer organization
• Install system wide software
• Manage/allocate mass storage space
• Coordinate support vendor visits
• Ensure backups are run properly and restore capability is fully functional
• Coordinate with internal and external organization to ensure proper status reporting and system outage planning
• Schedule and conduct preventive maintenance
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis as required
• Manage system tools and equipment
• Provide and support for system security and system hardening
• Develop, maintain, and report meaningful metrics
• Maintain user accounts
• Troubleshoot system anomalies
• Perform system tuning
• Occasional after hours or rotational on-call support for system troubleshooting and upgrades

Basic Qualifications:
+ Perform maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and/or virtualization
+ Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and/or assessing impact of issues
+ Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions

TS/SCI Government Security Clearance Needed to Start.

Preference for this requisition will be given to Space Employees.
Desired Skills:
+ Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
+ Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
+ Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
+ Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
+ Experience with operations and maintenance of BAE Systems Geospatial eXploitaiton Products (GXP) to include Socet GXP and GXP Xplorer and GIS data
+ Working knowledge of virtualization, Hyper-V, or equivalent
+ Willingness and ability to manage in-bound or out-bound shipments of hardware (workstations, monitors, servers, storage, etc).
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: Rotating 40 hour week as assigned by leader
