Summary

As an employee at CAE USA, you are not just an employee but a member of the family, where co-workers care not just about their work products but our customers, the community and each other.  CAE USA Systems Engineers are part of the program team which strives to not only meet but exceed our customers’ expectations.  System Engineers develop system architectures and define key capabilities in accordance with customer specifications to provide total training systems solutions used in aircrew and maintenance training systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position is for a systems engineer who is self-motivated, collaborative, has a strong work ethic and demonstrates strategic big picture thinking.Conduct engineering system development tasks including system requirements analysis, system architecture and design, preliminary design, critical design, system integration support, test procedure development, formal verification, and formal validation.Interpret and analyze customer requirements and CONOPS, defining the system-level architecture, and allocating subsystem requirements.Perform system-level analyses, determine and undertake necessary trade studies, define and allocate the functional requirements to subsystemUnderstand and implement systems engineering processes on programs and projects.Create and update essential engineering documents including specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, and presentationsEnsure all program requirements are met, program risks are identified and mitigated, and company processes are followed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience requiredA minimum of 8 years Systems engineering experienceExperience supporting military or defense programsAbility to apply sound engineering principles and develop innovative solutionsExcellent communication skills including oral, written, interpersonal, and listeningExperience with MBSE concepts and toolsProficiency with requirements analysis tools (DOORS, DOORS Next Gen)Proven success to multi-task, balancing multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced development environment and possess a willingness to take ownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressureAbility to provide and receive constructive criticismActive DoD Secret Clearance within a five-year investigation periodFlexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS) Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. 

Preferred Skills 

Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies, practices, and toolsExperience with Aerodynamics design and RF SystemsExperience with Flight Simulation and/or Radar SystemsFamiliarity with aircraft avionics 1553 protocol and simulator experienceExperience working in a production environmentPrior Military Experience

Security Responsibilities 

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.  

 Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. 

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. 

Physical Demands 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  

Salary Range:  $96,600 - $120,800   
Please note: The actual compensation rate is subject to the evaluation of the following factors (but not limited to): the candidate's work experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and market.
