Job Description
As a systems engineer, you’ll be expected to design, configure, and troubleshoot of server, storage, and application architectures. Perform the administrative operation and maintenance of server hardware and software. Manages Microsoft Active Directory objects, Group Policy Objects, and DNS zones/records. Maintains system security and executes practices and procedures, monitors usage statistics and logs, and monitors and remedies vulnerabilities. Build and maintain baseline configurations and perform modification of configuration settings. Institute troubleshooting and incident response procedures. Troubleshoot system related problems. Provide team leadership and guidance to less experienced administrators. Able to understand the networking architecture at a deep level for server and application design and troubleshooting. Remain current in operating systems/software analysis and technological developments and applications. Recommend future direction or projects to management. Provide expertise and direction in the development, modification, and documentation of software programs and applications to enhance an operating system.
Education:
BA/BS or equivalent experienceDOD 8570 compliant (Network + / Security + certified)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering Experience with VMWare vCenter/vSphere 6.7 or higherExperience with VMware Horizon VDI Desktops and ApplicationsExperience with NAS/SAN storage architectures and protocolsExperience with Microsoft Server 2016/2019/2022 Understands Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCPUnderstands networking at a high levelAble to work at a high technical level on all phases of systems engineering activities Excellent communication and briefing skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through Anticipates questions and is prepared with answers Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work Provides technical guidance and leadership to engineers and administrators with less experienceDesirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects and Servers Experience with NetApp AFF/FAS StorageExperience with F5 Load BalancersExperience with Azure Cloud servicesExperience with Rubrik Backup solutionsMCITP or equivalent preferred ITIL v3 Foundation certificationSecurity Requirements:
