Tax Manager, Corporate (Tax Technology)

Job Responsibilities

Execute on designing, developing, and implementation of tax technology to automate corporate tax projects and processes

Deliver and implement technology solutions and provide technical support and troubleshooting after implementation

Develop solutions utilizing Power BI, Alteryx, Python, APIs, Excel Macros (VBA), Excel, SQL, and other data transformation tools to efficiently manipulate, format, and analyze data

Develop solutions integrating tax or finance applications like Corptax, ONESOURCE, GoSystem, CaseWare, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP among others

Create and deliver training content to the greater tax team on new and existing tax technologies

Engage customers for gathering detailed requirements, determining design alternatives, developing creative solutions, and validating designs

Stay current with changes in tax regulation and develop tax planning skills at the federal and state level

Manage engagements review and confirm assignment objectives, scope, and work plan with the client, and workflow of multiple deliverables to minimize risk, maximize engagement economics, meet internal deadlines

Manage people teams, identify assignment resource requirements, and ensure the most appropriate resources are assigned to specific assignment roles

Provide support, guidance, and on-the-job training to technically develop less experienced individuals

Supervise and delegate work to staff and seniors, proactively manage the pipeline of work and resources, if applicable

Provide quality client service, which includes responsiveness, client ownership, timeliness of projects, and good communication

Develop tax technical and software skills through instructor-led courses, self-guided learnings, workflow updates, and on-the-job training

Provide constructive feedback and performance reviews

Assist with new business development, extended service, and tax issue recognition for existing clients

Coach and mentor staff and seniors on client engagements and career paths

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

Minimum of 5 years’ tax experience within public accounting or technology industry

Minimum of 3 years’ in a supervisory role involving clients and team members

Minimum of 2 years’ experience with developing solutions integrating ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Peoplesoft, or other tax or finance applications like Corptax, ONESOURCE, GoSystem and CaseWare

Minimum of 3 years’ experience using advanced functionality of Excel, Alteryx, SQL and other data transformation tools to efficiently manipulate, format and analyze data

Preferred Qualifications

CPA, Enrolled Agent or equivalent credential 

Alteryx Designer or Server Administration Certification, Python PCEP, Microsoft Certification, PowerBI Data Analyst Certification

Experience related to preparation and review of corporate tax compliance and income tax provisions preferred.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. Compensation Range for this position: 85,000-160,000. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location.
