Tax Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join a reputable public accounting firm in Newton, Massachusetts. In this role, you will oversee tax planning, compliance, and consulting services for pass-through entities and their owners. This position offers an opportunity to lead client engagements, manage staff, and provide strategic tax advice to a diverse client base.
Responsibilities:
• Manage tax planning, preparation, and research for S-corporations, partnerships, and individual tax matters for business owners.
• Supervise and review the work of staff members to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing timely and high-quality tax services.
• Conduct detailed reviews of tax returns and resolve any tax-related issues in collaboration with clients.
• Plan and oversee the tax engagement process, including budgeting, staffing, and ensuring timely billing.
• Research complex tax issues, providing clear and concise analysis and recommendations.
• Prepare written tax advice and responses to client inquiries, adhering to high standards.
• Introduce innovative strategies to reduce client tax liabilities and improve overall financial outcomes.
• Monitor the engagement process, identifying areas for improvement and implementing best practices. Requirements
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax planning, compliance, and consulting within a public accounting firm.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including CCH ProSystem Fx, CaseWare, and ADP Financial Services.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements for pass-through entities and individuals.
• Experience with tax research, analysis, and preparation of written advice.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage budgets and timelines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on client service.
• CPA license or equivalent certification preferred.
• Familiarity with auditing and financial reporting processes is a plus.
