Position Information Position Title Teaching Assistant-ADN Nursing FLSA Non-Exempt Full Time/Part Time Part Time Department Health Sciences Campus Central Campus Location Central Campus Salary 27.50 Hours Summary of Position To assist the qualified Associate Degree Nursing Program Faculty with clinical learning experiences. To provide necessary supervision and instruction to ADN students in the clinical or simulated setting. Minimum Required Education • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with an approaching graduation date. Minimum Required Experience A minimum of 3 years recent nursing experience in the anticipated clinical area. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Hold a current license or privilege to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. • Current CPR certification for the Health Care Provider or equivalent. • Have the clinical expertise to function effectively and safely in the designated area of teaching. • Competence in all basic skills of nursing practice. • Knowledge of the integral components of a simulated learning experience. • Communicate professionally with students, clinical faculty, and agency personnel. • Basic BlackBoard competency.
