Responsibilities **Position Summary:** Senior research technician to support a project studying the regulation of T cell immune responses. Individual will participate in all activities associated with the research labs. We require a very well­organized and highly motivated individual who seeks to contribute substantially to the overall research mission of the lab. Must be able to work both independently and in support capacity with other lab members. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient and possess good critical, analytical and communication skills. Primary responsibilities are described below. Weekend work will be required at times, based upon experimental schedules. Interest and willingness to learn new techniques are an essential job component. Opportunities to publish will be available for qualified individuals. **Responsibilities:** Responsibilities will include generation recombinant DNA constructs to monitor and manipulate T cell activation, production of retroviruses for transduction of T cells, immunization and infection to induce T cell responses in vivo, isolation of T cells from murine tissue, and in vitro biochemical, molecular, and functional analysis of T cell activation. The Technical Associate will be responsible for managing an animal colony, supervising and teaching lab staff and students, scientific record keeping, data analysis and presentation of data at lab meetings, as well as general lab duties such as ordering supplies and lab organization and maintenance. The Technical Associate will be expected to work independently with occasional discussions and directions from the Pl, to complete initial data analysis of experimental results, to prepare publication quality figures, and to work with the Pl in the develop of new approaches and the design of future experiments. The Tech Associate will also directly supervise 1-2 undergraduate research assistants. + Generation of recombinant DNA constructs, PCR, molecular analysis + Isolation of murine T cells, retroviral transduction, in vitro activation and functional analysis + Protein isolation and biochemical and mass spec analysis + Manage a mouse colony, including record keeping, breeding and genotyping + Develop and optimize protocols; keep abreast of trends in field by reading professional journals and attending meetings, institutes and seminars. + Analyze data, prepare schematics and graphic representations of experimental data using computer software; write procedures; prepare charts, graphs and tables; write and edit manuscripts for publication. + Supervise, counsel, and teach laboratory techniques to undergraduate student(s) and other lab members who will assist Tech Associate with their research + Organize laboratory, order supplies, routine lab and equipment maintenance + Participate and present in group lab meetings and seminars + Other duties and projects as assigned **ualifications:** + BS/BA degree in biochemistry, biology or chemistry with 1 year of related work experience involving direct assistance to researchers; or any equivalent combination of experience, training and education. + Ability to work with rodents and human samples. + Ability to adjust research priorities as needed and be willing to present, discuss, and troubleshoot data with the PI and co-workers. Preferred Qualifications + Experience with protein biochemistry, molecular biology, and/or tissue culture and prior supervisory experience strongly preferred. + Additional experience in immunology, flow cytometry, and/or animal handling is desirable. + Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written. + Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment. **How To Apply** All applicants must apply online. _EOE Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/Disabled_ **Pay Range** Pay Range: $ 37,000 - $ 64,100 Annually _The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job.
