Technical Writer

OPEX Corporation is currently looking for a full-time Technical Writer with software or hardware writing experience to join our growing team. This position is a hybrid in-person and work from home position based in Plano, TX. You should have at least 3-5 years’ experience writing technical documentation or developing user interfaces and enjoy working on cutting-edge products such as robots!

Responsibilities

Assist with creating and updating maintenance manuals, installation manuals, service bulletins, and both technician and user manuals. Use Jira and Confluence to track issues and update Styles and Standards Gather information from engineering documentation, site visits, and interviewing SMEs and Technical Trainers. Travel to our Moorestown, NJ office to gain hands-on experience with our machines and robots. 

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis on writing composition, communication, or engineering. 3-5 years’ experience writing technical documentation. A good mix of software and hardware writing experience preferred.  Familiarity with topic-based writing style, structured authoring, and single-sourcing. Familiarity with MadCap Flare, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, and Snagit.  Self-motivated, able to work and contribute within a team environment and alone. Willing and able to learn new technology and software, and eager to share your knowledge and experience with the rest of the team. Attention to detail and technical accuracy.  Able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously. Able to travel 3-4 days per every six months.
