Telecommunications Designer Telecommunications Designer Overview: Triple C – The A&E Group is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Designer (TD), proficient in Revit and RCDD certified to develop and manage all aspects of technical design and specifications development. This position coordinates within a remote, virtual working environment with a team of mechanical engineers, architects, interior designers, civil engineers, subconsultants, and owners, providing expertise in the full-project cycle from design through construction, primarily within the healthcare market. The TD at Triple C will work on various projects as assigned by a Project Manager. This position will play a key role in the entire telecommunications design process including, but not limited to, preliminary assessments, concept creation, design, problem resolution, drawing and specification production, and client and vendor accessibility. The TD may work on several concurrent projects and at times may assist as a technical expert on a specialized design. The TD will provide technical design of systems for building projects including security, fire alarm, voice, data, audio/visual, and other low voltage systems. Responsibilities will include preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, reports, site visits, review of technical documents, and participation in client contact situations. The TD will be responsible to complete project assignments with minimal supervision as well as give direction to support staff to complete a project. Requirements: + Education: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree, or technical institute degree/certificate, or equivalent work experience; preferably a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering + Experience: 5 + years of design experience, preferably with extensive projects in IT infrastructure + Current BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) + Experience designing low voltage and communication systems for buildings + Knowledge of power distribution, MEP standards, and general industry standards + Experience in CAT5e/6 and fiber optic cabling and standards, wireless infrastructure planning and installation technologies + Demonstrated knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards + Technical experience in preparing site survey plans consisting of cable plant drawings, computer room layouts, and rack elevation diagrams + Experience in coordinating cabling efforts and scheduling + Technical experience in analysis, design, installation, testing and documentation of cable infrastructure, floor drawings, VISO, networking hardware, AirMagnet Survey software, Aruba-HP wireless access points and general telecommunications room design experience + Knowledge of cable manufacturers and components + Understanding of connectivity for voice and data technologies + Experience in the layout and installation of peripherals (e.g., alert beacons and speakers) of the Alertus Technologies Mass Emergency Notification System + Experience in assembling all engineering documentation related to build out including: + Bid packages for IT infrastructure and electronic security systems, REVIT drawings, specifications, and installation details + Software Requirements: + REVIT + AUTOCAD + BLUEBEAM + MICROSOFT SUITE OF PRODUCTS (WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK, POWERPOINT) + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Demonstrated self-starter, team player, motivated/motivator, and able to efficiently manage/direct others (internally and externally) + Willing and able to wear multiple hats in a fast-paced virtual environment + Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently + Willing to travel to client meetings and job sites as required In addition to the above requirements and skillsets, the applicant should be proficient with all special systems design including nurse call, wander guard, fire alarm, IDS/security systems, WAPs, lightning protection, photovoltaics, wind power generation, call boxes, controls integration, and LV grounding.
