At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Test Engineer supporting FFE in the Technology Shared Services (TSS) group, you will be trusted to evaluate and support development of software, web, telephony, and virtual agent applications. This role will be done remotely.

The tester will perform continuous testing for security, API, and regression suite. The candidate will create automated scripts and supports data and environment configuration. The candidate will also participate in code reviews, monitor, report, and document defects to support continuous improvement activities for the end-to-end testing process.

HOW A TEST ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Participate and collaborate with team members to assess Story Point / complexity efforts (using best practices) to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance CriteriaDesigns, develops, evaluates, plans and tests engineering specifications for software programs and applicationsAnalyze testing outcomes to identify and document design gaps and functionality improvements and transition to Business AnalystApply knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes, and tools to support product testingBe familiar with any NoSQL databaseParticipate in Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, grooming, estimation) to support innovation and enhancement of applications through iteration/functionality testingCollaborate with team members (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Software Developers) to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsetsDevelop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system (JIRA)Provide early exploratory testing during the development phaseDesign, code and deploy automated test scriptsMaintain test documentation, provide support to government test organization, evaluate test results, and provide feedback in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:  Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience

Required Experience:  2+ years s experience or relevant experience/certifications

Required Technical Skills:  ​

Proficient in the different automated software testing methodologiesConceptual knowledge on agile integration.  Working as part of an agile team utilizing ScrumKnowledge of various SDLC methodologiesExperience or knowledge of Gatling test executionNoSQL database familiarityExperience with API testingAbility to test application developed with commercial-off-the-shelf productsExperience with developing and documenting end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system JIRAProven ability to work independently and as a team memberStrong organizational, attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, and time-management skillsEligibility to receive Federal Public Trust clearanceComplete Background Investigation in accordance with Section 8.3 of your Subcontract Agreement prior to start of workResidency in the US for at least 3 of the last 5 years

Preferred Skills: 

Experience with developing test automation framework using Java/Scala REST APIsProduce estimates for new functionality or enhancements
