Rosewood Miramar Beach, A Rosewood Hotel, is looking for a Food Runner. This role will work in close cooperation with the Chef, Front of House Management, and Servers in every aspect of guest service, including organizing, expediting, and delivering food orders, as well as other functions indicated by management. The Food Runner will provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service.

Essential Job Functions:

Ensure all dishes are delivered with accurate presentation, temperature, and sauce. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards. Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up, and restaurant dress code. Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the servers to the kitchen. Proactively gauge diners’ meal pace, ensure tickets are fired appropriately, and alert management to any high times. The ability to offer restaurant guests an enjoyable, expertly served dining experience that conforms to the standards of excellence for quality, professionalism, and friendliness. The ability to anticipate and service guests' requirements before requests are made or necessary. The ability to serve and clear food and beverage items unobtrusively and professionally. A thorough understanding and knowledge of all menus, food, food preparation and styles, and tableside serving techniques. The ability to serve and present food clearly, concisely, and professionally. A thorough and complete understanding of health and safety rules in a restaurant. The ability to communicate customer orders clearly. Complete opening and closing side-work as assigned and set all tables and stations according to standard. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements below represent the required knowledge, skill, and/or ability.

Required Experience:

Minimum 1 year Front of House experience, preferably in a fine dining venue. Must have excellent knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions. Well-organized and able to work with people. Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities. Open availability; must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Well-organized and able to work cohesively in a team-first environment. Outstanding coordination, organization, and multi-tasking abilities. Ability to maintain composure and stay focused. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others. Professional presentation and positive attitude.

Requirements:

Must have a current and valid Food Handler Certification. Must have a current and valid Responsible Beverage Service Certification and Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Server ID. Minimum of 21 years of age to pour alcoholic beverages.

The pay scale for this position is $16.00/hour plus tips. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
