Job Description

We are seeking a Traffic Engineer (with voice and mobility experience) for a 6 month contract with option to hire (depending on candidate preference) in Littleton, CO.  This contract role will be located onsite/ in office Monday - Friday during normal business hours (there are no remote options for this role) in the Denver area (Littleton) and does have the option to convert to a full time/permanent role if desired. 

 

This role will also work with 3rd parties to provide voice services and performing detailed evaluations of service providers' capabilities and performance.  Additional responsibilities include: 

 

Work with the Transport Team to develop requirements and specifications to deliver reliable voice services to  customers over a new network that will offer 5G servicesEvaluate future traffic loads and determine interconnection changes, including establishing voice peering arrangementsAbility to evaluate and manage all aspects of potential service provider relationshipsEstablish success metrics to evaluate and manage 3rd party service providers including SLA and KPIsImplement Best Practices for VoIP and data traffic engineering, LCR and dimensioning circuitsAssess system architectures including reliability and redundancy requirementsSupport transport/ traffic engineering portions of network projects such as VoIP traffic, data sessions, E911, and IP-based technologiesEvaluate CALEA interface, call flow model and the service providers’ implementation of this functionActively contribute to improvements and participate in innovation, lessons learned, and knowledge sharing activitiesEnsure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards

 

QualificationsBS in a technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience8 + years Telecommunications Network experienceMust have a strong understanding of data and VoIP network architecture, infrastructure components, Ethernet, fiber optic transport and data traffic engineeringDetailed understanding of signalling requirements to include SS7, DSC, SIP, SBC and othersExperience designing and implementing connections for the PSAP facilities and E911 callingExperience implementing various OAM&P platforms, including but not limited to Ciena, Cisco, Juniper proNX, Northstar, Infinera, and ECI (EMS/NMS);Familiarity with Optical Networks, OTN, DWDM, ROADM, SDH, SONET, optical transmission technologies, Ethernet, Wave, Switching, Routing, Data Networks, DCN, and Synchronization of optical networksAnalyzing new network requirements, deployments, augmentations, bandwidth upgrades and software upgradesAbility to write detailed technical specifications, define KPIs and manage in a complex environmentAbility to manage multiple commitments simultaneouslyExcellent communication and follow-up skills Proven ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately Ability to deliver in a fast-paced, high volume environment supporting aggressive targets Advanced degree preferred
