We are currently recruiting for the position of: 

Transportation Coordinator - Lathrop, CA

The Transportation Coordinator provides coordination and functional support to the Transportation Department to include administrative support to Supervisory staff. The position dispatches drivers, assigns and documents backhaul, monitors, and communicates route issues, resolves store pickup, delivery issues, and maintains transportation records and reports. The position also provides clerical support as required.

Responsibilities: 

•         Provide customer service/fields calls and emails from stores regarding deliveries; provide updates, estimate delivery times, and act as liaison to ensure on-time delivery and problem resolution.

•         Provide timely and effective communication to drivers, distribution center personnel, and support vendors to ensure efficient service

•         Utilize transportation systems and software to generate efficiencies in routing, dispatching, and driver communications

•         Administer program for recording and reporting driver performance

•         Ensure timely and accurate reporting in association with compliance to applicable laws and company policies (i.e. mileage, over speed, over idle, hours of service)

•         Monitor progression of loading of out bound loads, work with warehouse personnel to determine delay and adjust dispatching as necessary

•     Assist in routing and assignment of third-party carrier loads as needed       

•         Performs other duties as assigned


Hiring pay range: $18.15 - 26.10

Required:

•         Advanced coordination/administrative skills, to include good analytical skills

•         Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word), and use of general office equipment

•         Strong communication (written and verbal) skills and the ability to communicate to a variety of internal and external stakeholders

•         Highly functional in a team environment and have strong cooperation and team building attributes

•         Eagerness to learn and take on new tasks and challenges

•         Working knowledge of DOT regulations and company transportation policies and procedures

•         Good problem-solving skills

•         Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)

•         Good fact-finding and problem solving skills

•         Ability to work efficiently and calmly under stressful situations

•         Excellent organizational skills

Education: High School or GED and/or equivalent experience/training

Experience: One year of related experience

Other: Must be available to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work overtime, when needed.. Exposure to warehouse environment with temperatures ranging between 34 and 95 degrees.

Physical: sitting, standing, walking, Squatting, kneeling, bending, twisting, stooping, Pushing, pulling, climbing stairs or ladders, moving machinery, lifting up to 20lbs, Fine Finger Manipulation (i.e. Keyboarding), Repetitive Hand/Arm Use, Use of Protective Equipment.
