Transportation Supervisor

Position Summary:

Assist in the execution of the daily transportation operations of a multi-temperature, technology-driven warehouse with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

Ensure a safe working environment for all employeesExecute company processes successfully to ensure 100% complianceEnsure annual performance goals are met or exceeded, including on-time dispatches, off-load rate, labor cost and product loss and damageParticipate in the development of budgetsAssist in developing and implementing the daily operating plan to include equipment maintenance and driver work schedules to meet or exceed our customers’ delivery needsFoster a work environment that maximized employee involvement, morale and engagementProvide development to driver and support staffMaintain and monitor food safety activities in compliance with company and customer standardsEnsure compliance with company, state, federal and local policies, regulations, DOT requirements and safety/health standardsPartner with the Transportation Manager to provide oversight to route planning and bid package developmentPromptly solve problems to the maximum satisfaction of our customer(s)Participate in, contribute to and potentially lead various committees, such as quality and safetyPartner with Human Resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout the year and any employee concerns are promptly and appropriately addressedBe a champion of changeAny other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent2-4 years of related leadership experienceSelf-motivated and disciplined team playerStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to creatively solve problems in a fast-paced environmentSound organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize and multi-task to ensure deadlines are met with an accurate work productExhibit a sense of urgency and focus on resultsDemonstrated business and financial acumenProfessional self-presentationDemonstrated ability to anticipate business needs, think proactively and respond appropriatelyProficient with the Microsoft Office suite with intermediate Excel skillsDemonstrated proficiency with supply chain information systems, such as ATA, Paragon and JD EdwardsWilling to work any shift and any schedule due to our 24/7 environmentMust pass post-offer background check and drug test

Preferred Experience:

College Degree preferredFood distribution experience a plus
