Treasury - Quantitative Strategy & Analytics, Vice President

The Quantitative Strategy & Analytics (QSA) team within Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Treasury tackles high-priority strategic projects sponsored by the CFO and the Treasurer that directly influences the balance sheet of the largest retail bank.

As a Quantitative Analytics Vice President in CCB Treasury, you will be responsible for applying treasury principles to balance sheet analytics, synthesizing strategic insights, and communicating compelling recommendations to executive stakeholders. 

You will be driving projects end-to-end in partnership with line of business (LOB) deposits, analytics, pricing, product, finance, and capital markets teams. Projects will be primarily deposits focused around (1) analyzing interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and NII implications, (2) managing model risk controls, processes, and stakeholders, and (3) recommending enhancements to existing frameworks to guide business decisions.

Job responsibilities:

Analyze deposits analytics: Analyzing implications of deposit related assumptions and recommending adjustments to improve LOB and Treasury alignment Transform finance / treasury analytics: Transforming complex business scenarios and behaviors into financial / mathematical representations to drive evidence-based treasury decisions. Working with LOB partners to gather and ensure integrity of input data. Processing and interpreting data, designing analyses, and synthesizing insights. Design and execute macroeconomic & industry research: Designing and executing research to identify trends in central bank policies, banking system mechanics, and industry deposits to assess potential implications for retail bank strategy Promote project management: Driving end-to-end work streams and producing timely deliverables within the context of large-scale projects. Design communication narratives: Designing narratives for written materials and visualizations / dashboards to ensure they deliver clear and powerful messages to a senior audience. Manage stakeholder relationships: Building relationships with finance, and business partners firm-wide through collaboration on critical strategic projects.  Lead strategic thinking: Leading problem-solving sessions to develop ideas and enhancements to frameworks and assumptions that support business decision-making.

 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

7+ years of experience in banking, consulting, finance, strategy, capital markets, asset management, and/or risk management Quantitatively focused undergraduate and/or graduate degree or other demonstrated quantitative and analytical ability Proven track record of driving projects forward and making decisions despite uncertainty Versatile usage of Excel (advanced) to prototype solutions to complex business problems or design visualizations to help answer strategic business questions Excellent written (PowerPoint) and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively discuss and debate complex concepts with senior stakeholders Qualified candidates will be analytical, resourceful, self-motivated individuals with a keen interest in financial services strategy, balance sheet management, banking, and corporate finance

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

Deposits product knowledge and/or experience Prior experience with designing optimization analysis MBA, MSc, MA equivalent (e.g., Math, Operations Research, Engineering, Data Analytics) and/or progress towards CFA charter Experience using scripting / programming languages and statistical packages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R, SQL)

Candidates must be able to physically work in the NYC (Manhattan) office 3 days a week and remotely from home 2 days per week.  The specific schedule will be determined and communicated by direct management at time of offer acceptance.
