Coordinates and supervises the clinical training of Ultrasound students. Performs various procedures utilizing ultrasound equipment in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

**This is a weekend shift which comes with enhanced pay which we can discuss in a recruiter interview**

**Saturday 0700-1900, Sunday 0700-1900, Monday 0700-1900**

Qualifications

Education:

Completion of an approved ultrasound program required.

Licensure/Certification/Registry:

Active Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) or ARRT (S) certification in abdomen and obstetrics required. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or ARRT Vascular Sonography required.Maintain BLS CPR Certification.

Experience:

Three to five years experience in diagnostic ultrasound preferred.Experience in adult education, adult learning principles and / or classroom education preferred.

Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrated leadership skills required.Successful completion of advanced competencies required.Outstanding verbal, written and organizational skills. Responsibilities Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound, interventional ultrasound and sonographic vascular procedures on outpatients of all ages, according to established standards, policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.

 

Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound, interventional ultrasound and sonographic vascular procedures on inpatients (General, IMC and ICU) both in the department and bedside via portable Sonography as needed, according to established standards, policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.

 

Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures in surgical environment according to established standards, policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines.

 

Perform Transcranial Doppler Exams.

Coordinates and supervises the clinical training of ultrasound students.

 

Maintain technical skills relating to imaging factors.

 

Maintain an excellent guest relations rapport with patients, visitors, physicians and fellow employees.

 

Maintain skills in performing emergency and routine patient care as required.

 

Utilize proper infection control practices per the department procedure manual.

 

Monitor the condition of equipment and supplies to ensure safe and efficient operations of the department.

 

Ensure proper recording and transmission of patient information.

 

Comply with department procedures regarding employee / patient incident reports.

 

Review and recommend equipment / supply purchases.

 

Coordinate the staff’s continuing education program and actively involve the Sonographers in a peer / case review process.

 

Coordinate daily patient flow with the department and act on behalf of the Clinical Specialist in their absence.

 

Keep current of clinical developments in the field of Ultrasound imaging and assist the Clinical Specialist and the department manager in the creation of new clinical imaging protocols and advanced ultrasound applications.

 

Act as the Memorial liaison with the Ultrasound schools in encourage student education, cooperation and our recruitment efforts.

 

Evaluate and develop clinical education programs in other areas of radiology as requested.
