Rate of Pay:                 $113,402 to $205,000 per Year

Duties:                         Work within the Emergency/Critical Care/Urgent Care department and have primary case responsibility receiving animal patients and caring for their inpatients. Care for all the hospitalized animal patients within the hospital. Utilize skills in ultrasound, triage, CPR and work with technical staff to treat challenging veterinary medicine cases. Work with surgeons on emergency surgeries, specialists trained in ultrasound to help with animal patients, and various specialists to exchange advice on animal patients.

Requirements:              Employer will accept a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and 1 year of internship-trained emergency veterinary medicine experience.

In lieu of the above, employer will accept a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and 2 years of general practice veterinary medicine.

Position requires 1 year of experience in the following:

Performing basic triage ultrasound skills (including AFAST/TFAST/VETBLUE, Flash scan, or similar) Performing CPR, shock fluid therapy, and basic and advanced life support. Performing urinary de-obstruction, thoracocentesis, pericardiocentesis, and minor surgical procedures. Assessing patients, performing and interpret diagnostics, and properly referring patient to various specialists. Managing complicated ICU cases including diabetic ketoacidosis, renal failure, heart failure, pancreatitis, and others.

License Requirement:    DVM eligible for licensure in California and possession of ECFVG Certification if applicable.
