Who you are:

We are currently reviewing resumes from motivated, trustworthy, industrious, and team-oriented individuals who want to join our team of experienced and well-trained veterinary health care professionals. High school diploma3+ years of clinical experience in the veterinary industry or 1 years as a licensed RVT- highly preferredPrior veterinary experience requiredPrevious emergency experience desiredProficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessaryAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriateConsistent and reliable ability to perform and accurately complete client invoices and estimates, CRI calculations, and all drug dosages and conversionsMaintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)Some duties you may own in this role:TriagingRecord and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessaryEvaluating incoming patients and prioritizing based on assessmentPartner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concernsProvide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patientsAssist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and proceduresProvide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patientsInduce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation proceduresPerforming laboratory work and diagnostic imagingMonitoring hospitalized patients, treatments and nursing careVenipuncture/IVC placement, cystocentesis, urinary catheter placement and NG tube placement.Blood transfusion therapy including collection, administration, and transfusion reactions
