VCA Seaside Animal Hospital is hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician with a passion for training, leadership, and interests in progressing your career!

Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is required for this role, but we will also consider a highly experienced assistants enrolled in technical school or technologist program.

About Us

We are an AAHA-accredited, 2-doctor practice in coastal Calabash, NC. We see canine and feline patients, offering primary care, illness care, surgery, dentistry, boarding, and more. We are open Monday through Friday 7:30am - 5:30pm, Saturdays 8am - 1pm, and closed Sundays.

About the Role

The Technician Supervisor role will allow you to take the skills and experience you’ve gained over the years in this profession and put them to great use with our hospital.

This is a working supervisory position responsible for the leadership and development of the patient care team.  Technical skills that you will be utilizing (and teaching!) include:

Client education and communicationCompassionate patient carePatient assessmentSurgical preparation and assistingAnesthesia induction and monitoringLab sample collection and processingVenipuncture and catheter placementPharmacy and medication administrationDiagnostic imagingMedical recordkeeping

Supervisory duties will include:

Team training, development and supportImplementing department policies and procedureScheduling staff and conducting team meetingsAccurately handling and recording controlled drugsRecord keepingInventory ordering and managementEquipment maintenance
