Vice President of Unistel Operations
Summary: Unistel Industries is a food manufacturing facility that produces spice blending, processing, and packaging. Part of the CDS Life Transitions company, Unistel Industries is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation. Unistel is a preferred source provider through a partnership with the AbilityOne Program and Source America, employing individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Vice President of Unistel Operations will oversee operational management and drive financial performance while achieving budgeted revenue and growth. This position is responsible for the management of daily operations including leading and managing production, purchasing, warehouse, logistics and planning functions to ensure efficiency, cost effectiveness and seamless delivery of products. Essential Job Functions: + Oversees all daily activities of the production floors, warehouses and shipping and receiving. Ensures orders are completed and meet established timeframes, adhering to standards set (i.e. Safe Quality Foods). + Responsible for oversight of business development, driving new business and revenue growth. + Provides direct supervision to Associate Director of Employment Services, production managers, DOL coordinator, staff accountant, and business coordinators. + Ensures that all facility, production, quality, and participant needs are met through direct authority over clinical treatment planning, supervision, and integration into business operations. + Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce costs. + Lead the procurement team in strategic sourcing, negotiations, and relationship management with suppliers. + Develop and implement procurement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure a stable supply of raw materials. + Drive Gross Margin improvement through rigorous process management, target setting and discipline, cross functional collaboration, and COGS optimizations. + Ensures that all Unistel goals and objectives are met, as established through Strategic and Management Plans. + Provides monitoring to ensure that programs are fully compliant with New York State Office for People with Developmental Disability Standards + Ensures that all time studies and/or task analyses are complete and accurate. Ensures all Department of Labor regulations are met. + Ensures facilities are clean and well organized. Ensures property, equipment, and supplies are properly maintained and secured at all times. + Completes performance objectives and appraisals as scheduled and is responsible for all aspects of supervision including disciplinary procedures when necessary. Coordinates and approves time off requests for all Unistel employees. + Supports relationship with customers by responding to information requests. + Provides timely quotes to existing and prospective customers + Provides relevant trainings to Unistel employees. + Ensures effective cross coverage of other Unistel activities to maintain quality services. + Prepares and submits report to the EVP of Operations in a timely manner + Attends mandatory education and training sessions, as required. + Perform all other duties relevant to the position as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Ability to work independently and motivate others + Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing + Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. dead weight Education and Experience: + Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred + Five years industrial experience in a supervisory capacity required. + Highly developed leadership skills; financial analysis and business planning skills + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills relative to all levels of the organization + Reliable transportation (NYS Drivers’ Licensed required).
