Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Specialist III

Job Description:

General Summary:  With supervision from the Director of VDC + Quality, works with the assigned Project Manager to plan and execute the successful delivery of a project that meets the client's expectations, budget, schedule and goals.  

Essential Job Functions:  Work closely with Ghafari Project Manager, project team, the clients, and the expanded supply chain, including the General Contractors and sub-trades, to integrate the various BIM/CAD authoring applications.  Help the Project Architects and Engineers to track multi-discipline coordination issues, and help facilitate 3D team review meetingsAssist Quality group in ensuring that quality control procedures are initiated and enforcedMaintain required sections of the Project Execution PlanCoordinates with the Project Architect and Project Engineers to formulate the project work plan based on an approved scope of work for BIM and CADAssist in defining and documentation project deliverables for technology related issuesAssist in developing and communicating the project work plan for technology related issuesAssist the Project Manager in tracking the actual project completeness against the project schedule and budget by utilizing reports from the technology being utilizedAssist in managing the Client and the Ghafari production team to assure that service, scope, quality and schedule expectation are aligned through the implementation of technologyTrack, record and report project progress, issues and decisions using the prescribed tools and documentation defined in our Operations Manual related to technology implementationAssist in the identification of changes to the scope of work and the related repercussions on the project from technological issuesContinuously evaluate emerging Virtual Design and Construction technologies, identify opportunities to match those technologies with project needs to improve workflow and increase efficienciesParticipate in post project meetings to identify lessons learned for ongoing continuous improvement practicesAssist in the preparation of proposals as they pertain to the use of technologies and workflows on a projectTraining/support/troubleshooting for project team as requiredCoordinates with Document Control on project deliverablesRun clash and coordination reports, and project meetings with the Project Manager or Lead Architect/EngineerPerform other duties as assigned​Employment Qualifications:  

Education: Associates degree in an A/E discipline, or a related Construction field required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience:   5-10 years of experience in the utilization of Virtual Design and Construction processes on A/E projects
