Visual Design Specialist

Under the direction of the Seasonal Event Décor/Floral Manager, the Visual Design Specialist creates engaging and captivating visual designs used for décor and all design projects. This position supports department leadership by aligning with the department’s vision and coordinating the creative design, administration, compliance, and completion of horticultural projects within Yaamava’ Resort & Casino. The Visual Design Specialist also collaborates both internally and externally to ensure all designs and creative pieces meet enterprise brand standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Prepares renderings and project designs via design software (i.e., Photoshop, InDesign, AutoCAD). Collects information, organizes, and reports on key project metrics and dashboards as requested by department leadership.

2. Creates visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers, by hand or computer software.  Utilizes the work created to support internal and external sales as well as overall seasonal property design.

3. Adheres to industry established procedures and guidelines for creating, submitting, and uploading design files.

4. Ensures enterprise brand standards regarding production, productivity, quality, and customer-service are met.

5. Studies illustrations, photographs, and text to plan the presentation of materials, products, or services, as needed.

6. Maintains image resources files by adhering to department file management protocols.

7. Prepares final layouts for vendors, checks proofs, and reviews quality of final product before release.

8. Presents renderings and project designs to department leadership and the General Manager for review and approval.

9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

Education/Experience/Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Architecture, Business Management, or related field is required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working as a Graphic Design Assistant or related capacity is required. Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational requirements indicated above. Ability to maintain a strict level of confidentiality and act in a manner consistent with all legal and regulatory requirements and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations is required. Must be personable and professional, and capable of using caution and discretion in communication. Must have excellent listening, written and verbal communications skills. Intermediate experience with event planning is preferred. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
