Warehouse Lead Person

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:

• Provide friendly, fast, and helpful customer service to all guests and team members.

• Oversee receiving processes including receiving, storing, and distributing inventory.

• Oversee the work processes and procedures of receiving including the assignment of tasks or apportionment of work to be done by the receiving team member(s).

• Accept and examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.

• Arrange internal distribution of products received, stored, or warehoused, including delivery of products.

• Process shipments to outside vendor and arrange for pick up at receiving dock. Submit daily documentation of goods received to Accounts Payable.

• Record receipts/shipments of goods via SWS system or established system(s).  

• Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipment.

• Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

• Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes. 

• Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. 

• Confer and correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, and nonconformance to specifications. 

• Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. 

• Deliver or route materials to departments, using work devices such as hand truck or sorting bins. 

• Pack, seal, label, and affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools, power tools, and postage meter.

• Develop and maintain department procedures and SOP’s.

• Consult with management to clarify department priorities, identify problems, and suggest changes for improvement.

• Recommend and implement measures to improve productivity, equipment performance, and quality of service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency. 

• Train and assist workers in shipping and receiving activities. 

• Interview and recommend new team members.

• Review, adjust and administer working schedules of team members.

• Conduct individual or group pre-shift meetings with team members and provide daily positive feedback.

• Understand and adhere to disciplinary policies including but not limited to counseling team members and the use of progressive discipline to modify poor performance.

• Address and manage complaints, grievances or concerns from team members.

• Effectively use, administer and manage rewards and recognition for front line team members.

• Review the performance, productivity and efficiency of team members including but not limited to periodic evaluations.

• Recommend or oppose the change in status of team members including but not limited to changes from full time to part time, promotions, and transfers.

• Protect and preserve the assets of the company.

• Promote policies, procedures and processes to increase revenue and effectively manage expenses. 

• Compile information, complete and submit reports to authorized management or Accounting as required.

• Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental or company matters.

• Practice excellent customer service skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing ‘customers’, vendors’, suppliers’ and ‘team members’ needs courteously, promptly, and professionally.

• Meet all departmental or company project and assignment requirements and deadlines.

• Develop, attend or provide training as needed or required including but not limited to sanitation, safety and alcohol awareness.

• Provide for the safety of team members including keeping areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris and litter and performing all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.

• As needed, assist team members with any and all job functions as necessary for the efficient management or administration of business.

• Protect and preserve assets of the company.

• Meet grooming and appearance requirements.

• Meet attendance guidelines.

• Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.

• Perform other job related and compatible duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred

• 3 years related experience in warehousing and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience 

• Basic computer and typing skills 

• Must have working knowledge with Microsoft applications 

• Past Experience with Stratton Warren (SWS) preferred

• Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills required

• Must be able to acquire and maintain appropriate gaming license

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read and interpret documents In English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in English may also be required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.  Must be able to efficiently and accurately count money and gaming chips and make a change. Possess the ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.

REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Team members must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
