ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:


The Warehouse Operator’s primary responsibilities include picking, packing, and loading material following established procedures and quality standards using standard warehouse equipment. S/he is responsible for participating in continuous improvement activities providing feedback to management on process and safety. This role is also responsible for designated housekeeping areas to ensure warehouse areas are kept clean and safe.

Preparation of Distribution/Processing:

Receives orders/requests and picks, packs, and stages orders using scanning tools.Loads shipments safely onto flatbed or LTL trucks.Communicates shipment information to CSR or Supervisor.

Incoming Materials Processing:

Inspects materials for damage and reports as necessary.Receives materials from van truck loads and flatbed loads.Replenishes warehouse stock and rotates as required using reach truck or forklift.

Warehouse Equipment Operation:

Utilizes forklift, order picker, reach truck, and walkie rider pallet jack.

Departmental Process Improvement:

Standardizes procedures to assure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of all shipping and receiving functions.

Safety and Quality Compliance:

Comprehends and adheres to all safety, quality, and Company guidelines specified in official documents.

Additional Responsibilities:

Lead and promote health and safety work practices.Ensure regular, predictable, full-time onsite attendance.Assist with other projects and analyses as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GEDMinimum of two years of warehouse experience, preferably with steel or tubing; or a combination of equivalent education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.Reasoning Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents. Excellent organizational and time management skills.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to listen and speak effectively to understand and communicate the needs of customers and coworkers.Computer Skills: Ability to operate MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), internal business application computer system, and ability to be trained in bar-coding.Work Environment: Warehouse and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers,and pallet jacks.Other Qualifications: Must follow safety standards when working with tools and equipment and must be able to receive forklift certification and dock leveler training within first week of start in the position. After first week, must be able to operate dock leveler, as well as forklift in a variety of weather and traffic conditions. Must also be able to receive 30-hour OSHA certificate approximately within the first month of start in this position. Job Footer (US)
