Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

Warehouse Management

Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and its personnel. Promotes the efficiency and safety of operations by managing and continuously improving the inbound and outbound process. Manages and enforces the company’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program. Promotes the efficiency and safety of the operation by coaching, training, and leading by exampleEffectively communicates well-defined goals and policies and participates in the hiring, training, development, coaching, appraising, and motivating of warehouse employees.Manages warehouse activities for optimal efficiency including coordinating receiving, stocking, picking, packing, distribution, and arranging pickup/drop-off driving schedules to meet various business needs. Optimizes warehouse utilization, using lean tools and methods. Ensures processes are in place and documented regarding the maintenance of appropriate stock levels, order entry, order tracking, receival, verification, item tracking, stocking, picking, packing, and distribution of materials, parts/tools, and/or equipment. Seeks to continuously improve the customer experience, team unity, and individual employee satisfaction by proactively seeking regular feedback and improving the processes listed above. Regular, predictable full-time in person attendance 

Customer Experience

Coordinates with Agents, Customer Service Reps, Logistics, and Supply Chain teams to ensure physical inventory levels and picking schedules align with customer demand and priority. Ensures loads are built safely, on time, and per customer demands. Ensures load schedule is met and that all loads are safe and properly secured. Communicate customer will call order fulfilment and staging. Manages the returns process and inspection / disposition process. 

Safety

Monitors safety strategy, goals, record-keeping, and metrics to ensure compliance with industry, state, and federal requirements. Ensures personnel are trained per industry safety standards and job-specific / site-specific requirements. Reviews / Conducts Job Safety Observations (JSO’s) and trends and reports findings to management / ownership. Collaborates with leadership on disciplinary action for employees regarding safety violations. Drives and executes disciplinary action for safety violations. Utilizes Safety Corrective Action Form (SCAF), as needed. Notifies Human Resources (HR) when employee drug and/or background screening or processing of other confidential personnel information is required. Keeps “safety first” as a top priority for the Company. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in business, operations, logistics, or another applicable major with 3+ years of experience in a shipping/distribution environment; or a High School Diploma with 5-10 years of related experience; or a combination of equivalent education and experience. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to listen and speak effectively to understand and communicate the needs of customers and coworkers. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write and electronically submit POs and email coworkers. Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internal business application computer system. Familiarity with bar-coding management is required. SAP experience preferred but not required Other Qualifications: Must understand, follow, and enforce safety standards. Must be able to receive forklift certification and dock leveler training within first week of start in the position. Upon completion of first week, must be able to operate dock leveler, as well as forklift in a variety of weather and traffic conditions. Ability to perform business and financial functions, including strategic and business planning, budget development, and financial performance monitoring.
