Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an ambitious and talented professional to join our water resources service team in Ft. Worth, Texas as a Project Manager.  This is an opportunity to join Westwood’s highly experienced and dynamic team dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients. 

 

Our ideal candidate will have 4-7+ years of diverse hydrologic and hydraulic stormwater modeling, drainage facility design, and project management experience supporting private and public sector projects.  This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact and growth of a drainage design team. 

Duties and Responsibilities Manage the design and delivery of projects in a profitable mannerOversee the technical aspects of various projectsSupervise the work of engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project
Develop project work plans and budget projections and effectively deploy resourcesReview and interpret business metrics including utilization, backlog, work in process and account receivablesPrepare, maintain and coordinate schedules of multiple concurrent projectsDevelop and track milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget deliveryComplete monthly project accounting and invoicingImplement and maintain QA/QC proceduresParticipate in contract bidding, provide limited observation during construction, review submittals and RFIs
Resolve design conflicts and field construction issuesRepresent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agenciesWrite proposals and participate and/or lead interviewsGrow, mentor and train staffBuild relationships internally and externally with clients and strategic partnersLead business development activitiesNegotiate contract terms and conditionsEnsures division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the service.Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, Required Skills Outgoing, friendly, approachableExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsProficient in Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to manage staff and direct resources effectivelyAbility to effectively communicate at all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to manage drainage design projects in a profitable mannerExtensive knowledge of various stormwater modeling software, drainage facility design and other related design elementRequired software experience: HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS/ArcPro Helpful software experience: XPSWMM/XPSTORM, InfoWorks, AutoCAD Civil3DKnowledge and experience with the full drainage project lifecycle from preliminary studies through final designGeneral knowledge of construction processes and practices Experience preparing proposals, scopes of work and qualification packagesAbility to develop relationships with peers, clients, and public agency staff.Ability to coach and motivate others Required Experience BS in Civil EngineeringLicensed Professional Civil Engineer (PE) in Texas (or capable of obtaining within 6 months)4-7 years of progressive experience in the Water Resources Service and stormwater modeling/designThis position requires travel to project sites Preferred Experience Experience developing and implementing marketing pursuit strategies   Understanding of alternative delivery methodsExperience providing construction phase servicesTrack record of successfully winning and delivering projectsExperience in accounts receivable, invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design team About Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
