Overall Purpose\n

The Weld Inspector ensures the products meet specifications and quality standards according to blueprints, knowledge of welding, and metallurgy. The Weld Inspector is responsible for inspecting and assessing the strength and quality of welds, ensuring the correct equipment is being used, checking weld specifications, and ensuring all safety regulations are being adhered to.\n

Responsibilities\n

(To include but not limited to the following)\n

Customer Relationship & Business Development\n

\u00b7 Act as an impartial third party between the production source and the customer facility to address non-conformances\n
\n

Operations\n

\u00b7 Produce relevant field quality inspection reports and provide quality metrics\n

\u00b7 Discuss and explain procedures and regulations or need for corrective action with appropriate personnel\n

\u00b7 Evaluate the validity and acceptability of inspection, examination, and\/or testing results\n

\u00b7 Perform quality inspections on work currently performed or work that has been recently completed utilizing established checklists and\/or other quality related documents\n

\u00b7 Ensure project permitting requirements are followed including pre and post-project notifications\n

\u00b7 Recommend updates\/revisions to policies and procedures based on field observations where procedures may not be followed because they are unclear, incorrect, or non-existent\n

\u00b7 Measure dimensions, materials, products, installations or work for conformance to specifications\n
\n

Technical\n

\u00b7 Ensure that all documentation including specifications, blueprints and applicable tools, gages and fixtures are quality compliant and traceable\n

\u00b7 Participate in audits of processes, procedures and work areas\n

\u00b7 Move parts and materials to designate locations in accordance with normal material flow procedures\n

\u00b7 Keep equipment and surroundings neat, clean and organized\n

\u00b7 Perform related duties as required within the scope and skill level of this job function\n
\n

experience with D1.1, D1.2, D14.1,\n

D1.6 and D17.1.\n

\u00b7 Advanced knowledge of GTAW,\n

FCAW, GMAW, and SAW welding\n

techniques.\n

\u00b7 Ability to read and interpret blueprints.\n

Read work instructions and\/or\n

drawings to interpret and confirm\n

production and\/or assembly\n

information.\n

\u00b7 Detail oriented with a dedication to\n

the quality control and quality\n

assurance process; ability to\n

understand and read complex design\n

and fabrication plans and\n

specifications\n
