Position Summary:

The youth development specialist is responsible for maintaining the daily operations of the School Based Youth Services recreational program with the Warren Hills high school. The youth development specialist is responsible for implementing the WHYPC program with the Peer Leader classes to educate youth in elementary schools on a variety of prevention and wellness topics. The youth development specialist is also responsible for the execution of an evidenced-based curriculum that runs through the school year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the recreation area during lunches and after school while engaging with studentsProvide services such as homework assistance, enrichment activities, and snack preparationComplete a monthly activity calendarPlan and execute monthly recreation trips in partnership with the youth development specialist at the middle schoolProvide transportation to offsite recreational activitiesPlan and facilitate family engagement activitiesMaintain the program's bulletin board within the schoolManage high school site supply budgetMaintain strong working relationships and collaborations with district staff to promote School Based Youth Services, WHYPC and evidenced-based curriculumSchedule, organize and implement an evidenced-based program for Warren Hills' students in coordination with teachers Work with Peer Leader students and their teacher to create, review, and implement Power Point presentations for WHYPCComplete quarterly reporting information on WHYPC program for submission to the countyOther duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field or Associate Degree with documentation of at least 3 years full-time experience as a youth service workerDriver's license and ability to drive 12 passenger vanInterpersonal skills and writing skills
